3rd Annual Burke County Birding
Festival
June 20 - 21, 2008
Bring your bird list and come experience the sights and songs
that make the
Burke County Birding Festival a premier birding adventure.
Guided
birding tours and prairie wildflower walks, family events, and
fabulous food will be featured at the 3rd Annual
Burke County Birding Festival. The Festival is held on Lostwood
National Wildlife Refuge, 16 miles south of Bowbells on ND State
Hwy 8. Lostwood NWR is a Globally Important Bird Area providing
essential habitat for bird species including Sprague’s pipit,
Baird’s sparrow, and the piping plover. The newly renovated
observation tower allows visitors a “bird’s eye” view of the
prairie atop a 50’ viewing platform.
There is no charge for any of the events at the Refuge, but to
plan for guides and food we are asking that people
pre-register. Please complete the form on our Registration
page or click here
for a printable form you can send in.
Information on
the 2008 festival can be found on the “Schedule” page.
